Alleged Florida shooter’s friend reveals final text before massacre
Feb. 14 started out like a normal Wednesday, but soon things changed when Nikolas Cruz entered Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. He is now accused of murdering 17 people. The family who took in Cruz after both of his parents died, the Sneads, are speaking out to Dr. Phil about the Cruz they knew and how they didn’t see any warning signs.
JT Snead, the kid who befriended Cruz and asked his parents to take him in, was potentially the last person to speak with Cruz before he opened fire. Snead says that he received a text message from Cruz that said, “Yo,” and then Snead replied that “the fire alarm went off.”
Snead tells Dr. Phil that he was shocked to find out Cruz was the one being accused of the massacre. He also says that if he saw any indication that this could have occurred, he would have reported it. The young man is also offering his apologies to anyone, saying, “I’m sorry, no one should have to go through that, nobody.”
