Alexa PenaVega shares heartbreaking statement announcing stillbirth of daughter
In a joint Instagram post on April 15, Alexa and Carlos PenaVega announced that they suffered a stillbirth with their fourth child, a daughter they’d named Indy. The “Spy Kids” alum and Big Time Rush singer shared the painful news with fans and followers, writing that Indy was “born at rest” in a “peaceful delivery.”
“There are never the right words to say when it comes to loss. After a beautiful and peaceful delivery our daughter ‘Indy’ was born at rest,” they wrote. “It has been a painful journey. But in the pain we have found peace.”
It seems the couple is leaning on their faith during this tough time. “God continues to comfort and hold us in his arms,” they added. “The prayers from the community around us have been so sustaining in this difficult season.”
“This little girl has already changed our lives in so many ways,” they continued. “She was absolutely beautiful. And looked just like daddy. Dark hair and all. Grief has come to us in waves. Moments of feeling absolutely gutted…then moments of feeling blessed by just getting a moment with her.”
“We can’t understand why things like this happen and we may never get those answers. Indy Rex PenaVega, you completely changed our world. You moved us to a new place. You gave us the community we have been longing for. We love you can’t wait to see how many other lives you change.”
The duo announced they were expecting baby Indy on Instagram last November, with Alexa chronicling what she called her “hardest pregnancy yet” on social media. She shared that she’d had a rough first trimester and spent several days in the hospital due to bleeding in March, experiencing similar symptoms that she also had when she was pregnant with her third child, their two-year-old daughter Rio. They married each other in 2014 and are also parents to sons Ocean, 6, and Kingston, 4.
We’re wishing their family nothing but the best as they heal and recover.
