Alex Murrel Johnson Welcomes Son Levi William

Alex Murrel Johnson has come a long way from her MTVdays — she’s a mom!

The former Laguna Beach cast member, known as “Alex M.” on the hit 2000s reality show, and her husband Kyle Mark Johnson welcomed their first child on Wednesday, July 20, she confirms to PEOPLE. Born at 5:27 p.m. in Newport Beach, California, son Levi William Johnson weighed in at 8 lbs., 10 oz. and measures 21 inches long.

“Meeting my son for the first time was the most beautiful and unforgettable moment of my life,” the new mom tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I don’t think anyone can prepare you or accurately describe the feeling of becoming a mother. It’s a love like no other and something that has changed my life in ways I never thought imaginable. I love just staring at him and watching all his movements and expressions. I still feel like I’m dreaming.”

“The best day of our lives so far and so madly in love,” Murrel Johnson wrote on Instagram, sharing a baby photo.

The couple were married in October 2014, and Murrel announced her pregnancy on Instagram in January. A little over a week later, she posted a video showing her and her husband cutting a cake, whose inner icing revealed the sex of their baby.

“It’s a … BOY,” Murrel, 29, wrote, alongside lots of heart emojis. “Can’t wait to meet our lil guy.”

Johnson joined in on the social-media fun too, posting a photo of himself and his wife holding their cut cake with visibly blue-tinted icing.

“It’s a boy!” the proud dad captioned the photo, in which Murrel is gazing up at him lovingly. “One of the best days of my life! See you soon #littlebuddy.”

The couple also celebrated Levi’s upcoming debut with a tropical-inspired baby shower in June.
