Al Roker experienced a heartwarming reunion to celebrate the Today plaza's 30th anniversary.
On Monday, June 3, the beloved weatherman was surprised with a visit from someone he met as a baby on the show three decades ago.
"Talk about a throwback! Just days after the TODAY plaza opened in 1994, #AlRoker met a family with a young baby," a post on Today's Instagram account read. "Thirty years later, Jordan Burrell and his father Gregory are back outside Studio 1A to reunite with Al! ??."
In the first clip, Roker held baby Jordan while walking up to the child's mother, Maria.
"You guys have brought the youngest viewer to the Today show yet," he said. "This is Jordan. I better give you back to him."
Jordan's mom shared that her son was 6 months old, to which Roker exclaimed, "What a guy!" and then the clip ended.
Fast-forward to today, and a fully-grown Jordan and his dad, Gregory, reunited with Roker. His mother had sadly passed away.
When asked how Maria would feel about the reunion, Gregory shared: "Oh, she would be elated."
He continued: "I tell you, we got up bright and early to get here to see your show in 1994. And Jordan was crying, and we remember Al saying, 'Where's that baby?! Where's that baby?!' And then 30 years later, we get a call."
As for Jordan, he said it was "definitely surreal" to be back at the Today plaza.
"I mean, I was just along for the ride when I was first here," he told Roker. "Now, circle back, and good to see you again."
Meanwhile, Roker joked, "Look at how big you've gotten, Jordan!"
