Al Roker Demonstrates ‘Hilarious’ Kitchen Habit That Made Daughter Courtney Call Him ‘the Worst’

Al Roker had fans laughing this week after he demonstrated the habit that he often puts into practice when he’s spending time in the kitchen with his oldest daughter, Courtney Roker Laga.

The Today show co-host and his daughter were filming a kitchen segment together during a recent appearance on Sherri Shepherd’s daytime talk show, Sherri. The show shared clips from the segment on Instagram on Friday, Nov. 8.

In the first clip included in the four-part Instagram carousel, Roker Laga was busy preparing a dish as she explained to Shepherd why her father is “the worst” in the kitchen.

“He’ll come up behind me and be like, ‘YES CHEF,’ and, like, yell in my ear,” Roker Laga said.

“I watch The Bear,” Roker, 70, said in his own defense. “So I go….” The weather presenter then paused to walk over to his daughter, where he then yelled, “BEHIND you,” as he stood directly behind her.

Roker Laga shook her head, clearly not surprised by the demonstration. “That’s my life,” she said as the show’s live audience laughed. “This is my life.”

Roker got laughs for another amusing moment that the show included in its Instagram carousel. After mistakenly referring to his daughter as a Michelin Star chef—Roker Laga clarified that she had worked at a Michelin Star restaurant—Roker offered a teasing comment. “Actually, her car has Michelin tires,” he joked.

Fans left several laughing emojis in the Instagram post’s comment section as they enjoyed the playful family moments.

Roker and his daughter have appeared together on several shows over the last few months while promoting their new cookbook, Al Roker’s Recipes to Live By: Easy, Memory-Making Family Dishes for Every Occasion. The book hit shelves in mid-October.
