AGT Video: 9-Year-Old Pranysqa Mishra’s ‘Golden’ Voice Leaves Heidi Klum Shaking — Watch Audition
America’s Got Talent has always been partial to pint-sized vocal powerhouses, from Jackie Evancho to Angelica Hale, and Tuesday’s episode added another name to that illustrious list — Pranysqa Mishra.
The nine-year-old singer from Tampa, Fla., was the last to take the stage, but there’s no question that she left the biggest impression on the judges, earning a well-deserved Golden Buzzer from Heidi Klum for her performance of Tina Turner’s “River Deep Mountain High.”

It was an appropriate song choice, given that Turner — along with Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston — is one of Mishra’s favorite artists, proving that she has taste as well as talent. And within seconds of her opening her mouth to sing, the slack-jawed judges began shooting each other knowing glances.
Prior to her audition, Mishra told the judges that she would call her grandmother if the performance went well, so Klum made sure to FaceTime her backstage with the good news. (That cover of “Reflection” from Mulan was a bit of an odd choice to underscore Mishra’s triumphant moment, but we’ll let it slide.)
Mishra’s incredible performance was preceded by several other memorable auditions, including a jazz routine from eight-year-old dance phenom Boss Baby Brody; a beautiful, nerve-wracking display from aerialist couple Sebastian & Sonia; and the reintroduction of Menudo for a new generation.
