Per the elusive official synopsis, the show centers on the infamous titular Agatha, who finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth teen (Joe Locke) helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious teen pull together a desperate coven, and set off down, down, down The Road…
“WandaVision” creative force Jac Schaeffer serves as showrunner and directs the pilot episode. Rachel Goldberg and Gandja Montiero direct additional episodes.
The series co-stars Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, and Debra Jo Rupp. Patti LuPone and Aubrey Plaza guest star. MCU studio head Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Mary Livanos, and showrunner Schaeffer all executive produce.
LuPone previously confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that she and Plaza also play witches alongside Hahn’s lead character. The “Beau Is Afraid” star added that she watched “WandaVision” twice to figure out the storyline for the spinoff, which was originally titled “Agatha: Coven of Chaos.”
“I’m having a blast,” LuPone said. “It’s a wonderful group of women, plus a phenomenal crew. I mean, the design on this piece is extraordinary. Jac Schaeffer is so talented, she’s the creator of ‘WandaVision’ and now ‘Coven of Chaos,’ and it’s an extraordinary cast of women.”
Additional Disney+ MCU series include the new “Daredevil” which brings back the original Netflix cast. The long-awaited show had a soft launch with Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio reprising their respective “Daredevil” roles for “Echo” back in 2022. Krysten Ritter is rumored to also be returning as Jessica Jones for the series after leading a standalone Netflix show co-starring David Tennant.
“Agatha All Along” premieres September 18 at 6:00 p.m. PT/9:00 p.m. ET with the first two episodes on Disney+. Check out the trailer below.
