Adam Sandler's latest North Jersey 'Happy Gilmore 2' filming spot is this mini golf course
Adam Sandler continued his tour of North Jersey this week, this time visiting a miniature golf course to film scenes for the upcoming "Happy Gilmore" sequel.
The actor and comedian was seen Tuesday at Farmview Golf Center in Washington Township, on the border of Morris and Warren counties, shooting scenes for "Happy Gilmore 2." Photos on social media showed Sandler, wearing a purple jersey with "Ice House Hockey" on the front, walking along the set and greeting local officials and fans who had gathered to watch the shoot.
"Adam Sandler was great, stopping to say hello to people that had come by midday," Washington Township Mayor Matt Murello said in a Facebook post, "and all of the production staff was very kind in letting me hang out on the set."
Stone Hedge Farm, a garden and landscaping center adjacent to Farmview, let Sandler and his crew use the property to park and set up trailers, a generator station and various other accommodations throughout the day.
"Adam was kind enough to take some time after a long hot day of filming to meet with our crew here," Stone Hedge wrote on Instagram. "It was truly a pleasure to spend some time with him."
Netflix announced earlier this year that Sandler would reprise his role as hockey player-turned-golfer Happy Gilmore in a sequel to the 1996 film. North Jersey demonstrated its support of the movie last month, with thousands lining the streets of Morristown to attend an open casting call.
"Happy Gilmore" scenes will be shot at various spots in Morris, Bergen, Essex, Somerset and Monmouth counties through November. While the film crew is not publicizing the locations ahead of time, news of Sandler's appearances has been spreading quickly on local Facebook pages and other community forums.
In his post, Murello highlighted several agencies that made the day go smoothly. The Washington Township and Hackettstown police departments helped control traffic, while a nearby Target on Route 46 hosted equipment and personnel trucks for the shoot.
"It was a very large production with hundreds of cast, crew and support staff and everyone in Washington Township worked hard to pull this off with short notice," Murello said. "Thank you to Netflix for showcasing a part of our beautiful town."
