Accountability, Apologies, Birthright, and Backpacks in the July 11 Bold and the Beautiful

In order for Hope to see the light of her feelings for Thomas and Finn, Brooke took a huge step. In the July 11 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, she owned up to the mistakes of her past. Later, Hope apologized for her meltdown when Thomas returned engaged to Paris. Bill and Luna talked about her birthright at Il Giardino while Poppy ate caviar. Finally, Hollis opened up Tom’s backpack.

Accountability

The conversation Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Hope (Annika Noelle) had was over 35 years in the making. Brooke wanted to keep her daughter from ending up like her, for making self-destructive decisions that cause damage, destruction, and despair to everyone in a five-mile vicinity. Her motives for doing so were to get Hope to see the error of her ways concerning Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) and Finn (Tanner Novlan).

Brooke did it. She took accountability for her actions. And she apologized for them as well.

I haven’t been a very good role model in my personal life. And I know that. I do. Especially when I was younger, I was very selfish. I would do whatever I wanted, and I didn’t care. I hurt a lot of people. My friends, my family, my children. You were right there, honey. You were right there in the middle of it. And I know you experienced some of that fallout. And I’m so, so sorry. I mean that’s why you’re the person you are today. You are so cautious with everything. You are careful. You don’t want to make the same mistakes that I made, and I understand that. But the reason that I’m saying these things is because I need you to see what’s driving your desire to be with Thomas.

And while we certainly think that this notion may be driving Hope’s feelings for Finn, the jury’s out if they’re doing the same with Thomas. (B&B’s Aaron D. Spears celebrated a birthday this week)

Apologies

Hope’s conversation with her mom helped her get her you-know-what together a little bit better. So when she does face Thomas at the end of the episode she’s still feeling her feelings, but she does her job. She apologizes for her terrible reaction to his blindsiding her with the news that he was engaged to Paris.

Thomas then told her that he and Paris (Diamond White) were headed back to Paris, France, with Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri). He didn’t want her to worry; he wouldn’t keep Douglas away from her, but there would be quite a distance between them for the foreseeable future. He took her hands and told her he hoped he could understand him moving on with his life. Also, he wanted her to pick the right man in the future. Hope attempted to keep her feelings in check, but it was hard.

Did Thomas lay it on a bit thick here at the end? Is he still toying with Hope’s emotions? Something’s going on here. Not sure what just yet.

Birthright

Bill (Don Diamont), Luna (Lisa Yamada), and Poppy (Romy Park — who recently teamed up with actor Tim Dekay on a project) continued to get to know each other and live the good life at Il Giardino. Apparently, off camera, Bill took Luna over to Spencer publications, a set we haven’t seen for a long, long time.

He was happy that his newfound daughter was interested in the company much like she was interested in Forrester Creations. While it looked like Poppy tried caviar for the first time (again, jury’s out), Bill wanted Luna to know that this birthright is waiting for her whenever she wanted it.

Would Luna ever defect from Forrester to Spencer? (Here’s what fans have to say about Paris Thomas, and Hope)

Backpacks

Finally, Hollis (Hollis W. Chambers), the Il Giardino Bartender, continued to feel the loss of his buddy, Tom (Clint Howard). Deacon (Sean Kanan) put him back to work, but eventually, Hollis ended up back in the supply room again.

This time, he opened the backpack and took a package out. He opened it and saw the letters that Poppy had recently returned to Tom. She insisted that he had taken them, so we wonder what he wrote in those letters. And will we get more Tom/Poppy flashbacks in the future?

What did you think of Brooke and Hope’s conversation? Is Thomas on the up and up here? Will Luna defect to Spencer? And will Hollis survive the week? (He better!!!!)
