98 Degrees joke that NSYNC 'stole the thunder' from their own reunion
Nostalgic millennials the world over squealed when NSYNC reunited at the VMAs, but not everyone was thrilled with the timing of the boy band's return.
Chart-topping pop outfit 98 Degrees, who are currently touring in celebration of their 25th anniversary, joked that NSYNC's reunion "stole their thunder" during an appearance on Tuesday's episode of Andy Cohen's SiriusXM show.
But the four-piece — which consists of Jeff Timmons, Justin Jeffre, Drew Lachey, and Love Is Blind host Nick Lachey — aren't sweating it. "When one succeeds, we all succeed," said Drew. "Us, NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, we're all clumped into the same kind of pile there. So if one's elevated, it elevates everybody."
Nick went on to posit the possibility of a reunion tour and new music from NSYNC (beyond, of course, their song in the upcoming Trolls Band Together). "I mean, happy for those guys personally, too, because we obviously know them well at this point," he said. "And excited for the fact that they're hopefully gonna do this. They've held up for a long time, so [have it] be a big moment. Fingers crossed."
