‘7th Heaven’ Stars Slam T.V. Dad Stephen Collins’ ‘Inexcusable’ Sexual Abuse
The former kid stars of 7th Heaven denounced their T.V. dad, Stephen Collins, for his alleged sexual abuse of children!
Beverley Mitchell, 43, David Gallagher, 39, and Mackenzie Rosman, 34 — who starred on The WB series, which ran from 1996 to 2007 — recently reunited for their new podcast, “Catching Up with the Camdens,” which is named after their fictional T.V. family.
Rosman says, “We want to be clear that we did not have any inappropriate experiences with Stephen.”
Mitchell points out, “We do not excuse or condone his behavior.”
And Gallagher notes, “All forms of abuse, sexual abuse of any kind, it’s inexcusable, and victims of abuse need to be shown compassion and they should be given support.”
Collins, 77, played Protestant preacher Eric Camden on the squeaky clean drama. But he was allegedly taped by his now ex wife Faye Grant during a therapy session admitting to inappropriate sexual conduct with three female minors from 1973 to 1994!
After the bombshell accusations dropped in 2014, Collins was booted from the movie Ted 2 and 7th Heaven reruns were yanked from syndication. He shockingly admitted, “Forty years ago, I did something terribly wrong that I deeply regret. I have been working to atone for it ever since.”
He also claimed the recording was made without his or the therapist’s knowledge or consent and insisted “assumptions and innuendos” about what he supposedly did went “far beyond what actually occurred.”
Collins has since shied away from the spotlight and lives quietly in Iowa.
