The 7 Best New Movies Streaming on Netflix in January 2025

With the holidays firmly in the rearview mirror, the start of the spring movie season still months away, and much of the entertainment industry laser-focused on the Oscar race, January is often a barren time for new film releases. But for those looking to spend one of the coldest and darkest months of the year binge watching movies, Netflix has plenty of solid additions to its streaming library to satisfy your cinematic cravings this month.

The streaming giant’s January slate features classic films from the likes of Christopher Nolan, Ari Aster, Lars von Trier, and Richard Curtis. And there are plenty of new releases to be found, including Cameron Diaz’s highly anticipated return to acting in “Back in Action” and the Aardman Animations sequel “Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.”
