Athens Symphony Fall Concert
WHERE: The Classic Center Theatre (300 N. Thomas St.)
WHEN: Sunday, Nov. 5 at 3 p.m. (Free admission)
DETAILS: Titled "A Jolly Good Show," Athens Symphony's fall 2023 concert will feature a mix of American and English classics under the direction of Conductor Brad Maffett. Micky Dolenz
WHERE: Wuxtry Records (225 E. Clayton St.)
WHEN: Friday, Nov. 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. (Contact store for admission)
DETAILS: Micky Dolenz, the last surviving member of 1960s pop band The Monkees, will be in town to autograph copies of "Micky Dolenz Sings R.E.M.," an EP of cover tunes by Athens pop band R.E.M. Athens Showgirl Cabaret
WHERE: Hendershots Coffee, Bar and Music (237 Prince Ave.)
WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 4 from 8 p.m to 11 p.m. ($5 admission for ages 13 and up, free for ages 12 and under)
DETAILS: Join Athens' longest-running drag show for an all-ages welcome event to celebrate the birthdays of Athens Showgirl Cabaret entertainers Kellie Divine and Jenn Sparx. The all-star list of local drag artists includes Alice D, Zizi Foxx, Gemma Divine, Aqua Maureen, Lori Divine, Garnet D. Armoni and more.
UGA Faculty Jazz Ensemble
WHERE: Performing Arts Center, Ramsey Concert Hall (230 River Rd.)
WHEN: Friday, Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m. ($15 admission for adults, $3 for students and children)
DETAILS: The University of Georgia's Faculty Jazz Ensemble will perform a cover of legendary artist Miles Davis' "Birth of Cool," arranged by Gil Evans. The Studio Debut Revue
WHERE: Georgia Theatre (215 N. Lumpkin St.)
WHEN: Friday, Nov. 3 from 8 p.m. to midnight ($15 admission)
DETAILS: Athens Studio for the Performing Arts will host a "Debut Revue" event featuring performances by local dance groups Athena Rhythm, Athens Swing Central, Boulevard Burlesque Company, Classic City Belly Dance, The Modern Pin Ups, Normaltown Tap, Speakeasy and more.
