‘Dance Moms’ React to Maddie’s Departure

On Tuesday’s Dance Moms, Melissa Ziegler-Gisoni announced to the rest of the Dance Moms that she and her two daughters, Maddie and Mackenzie, will not be continuing on the show or in the dance company. The other mothers were shocked by the news. They had previously Melissa if she and her daughters would be staying but got a range of ambiguous answers.

Abby Lee Miller initially had a subtle reaction of, “Oh, that’s interesting.” The subtlety soon subsided, however, and she locked herself in the dance studio bathroom for several hours. Later she began to cry at the thought of saying goodbye to her star dancer. Miller said in a meeting with the dancers and their moms, “I want you to know that I love each and every one of you. I would’ve never been a dance teacher if I didn’t love kids. Why would you do this job?”
