29 Movies That Are So Awful, People Actually Had To Stop Watching Them
A while back, we wrote a post where Reddit users shared movies that were so awful, they stopped watching halfway through.

In the comments, many readers from the BuzzFeed Community shared even more terrible movies they couldn't finish — and TBH, it gets controversial. Here are the surprising results:
1.The Nice Guys (2016)
"The Nice Guys with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling. I’ve seen a lot of sh*tty movies in my life all the way to the end, but that is the only one I just turned off and walked away. Don’t remember any of the plot, but I know it was terrible."
2.Suicide Squad (2016)
"Lasted less than 30 minutes before giving up."
3.Bridesmaids (2011)
"Bridesmaids!!! Please tell me I am not alone in this! It was horrible and not remotely funny! I cannot stand it and don't understand the hype!"
4.Nacho Libre (2006)
"Actually went to a theater to watch that stinking piece of excrement. Had the belief that, 'Hey, it's Jack Black; it might be funny.' Nope. Stuck it out with the misguided notion of, 'Surely it gets better.' Nope."
5.Kissing Booth (2018)
"There shouldn't even be a second one."
6.Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016)
"I love the books, but them switching the two girls' special abilities pissed me off, LOL."
7.Men in Black: International (2019)
"I loved the original and thought it’d be fun, but no, it was terrible. Maybe it was seeing Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) playing lesser versions of themselves. I don’t know. It was awful."
8.Cats (2019)
"I never slept in a movie theater — until Cats. Five minutes in, my mom, sister, and I were all asleep. It was a good nap though."
9.You’ve Got Mail (1998)
"I literally counted the ceiling tiles in the theater instead of watching the movie."
10.King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017)
"Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur. Somehow ruined both King Arthur (one of my favorite stories) and Charlie Hunnam for me."
11.Step Brothers (2008)
"I walked out of Step Brothers."
12.Boo! A Madea Halloween (2016) and Boo 2! (2017)
"I love the Madea movies, but the Boo! 1 and 2 were horrible. Not a good idea to watch them."
13.The Room (2003)
"I was expecting to enjoy The Room, assuming it was a cult movie because it was bad in a kitschy way and because my husband had hyped it up for years. I was actually PISSED after watching it. The horrible-and-not-in-an-endearing-way writing, the misogyny, etc. I’ve never felt that way after watching any other movie, and I still wish I could get that time back."
14.The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013)
"The books were so magical and wonderful, and the movie was so terrible in every way."
15.The Lovely Bones (2009)
"The Lovely Bones should be on here! They absolutely destroyed the book — it made me so angry, I had to turn it off halfway."
16.Cyrus (2010)
"I actually walked out the cinema when watching Cyrus. It’s terrible."
17.Hollow Man (2000)
"Hollow Man is the only movie I’ve ever walked out on. Disgusting. I will never watch Kevin Bacon again."
18.Deadpool (2016)
"Just the worst thing I’ve ever seen."

19.Superman III (1983)
"Showing my age here, but I remember walking out on a Superman movie with Richard Pryor. So ridiculous."
20.White Chicks (2004)
"Everyone has always told me that White Chicks is so funny. I gave it an honest college try, and I will never get that time back in my life."
21.Locke (2013)
"Locke with Tom Hardy. I had to switch it off halfway through because I’d lost the will to live."
22.The Beach Bum (2019)
"Amazing cast, but it didn't go anywhere, and I watched nearly an hour before I couldn't take it anymore. It made no sense and was so unrealistic. I can suspend disbelief for a lot of things, but this was awful. What a waste!"
23.Death Note (2017)
"The American version of Death Note. Yuck."
24.Getaway (2013)
"There’s that awful movie with Selena Gomez, Getaway. Came out in 2013, and it’s one of the worst films I’ve ever seen."
25.Due Date (2010)
"I thought it’d be funny because I really liked Zach Galifianakis in The Hangover. His character was obnoxious, but funny yet tolerable. But his character in Due Date was loathsome to the extreme. I hate it when a comic actor finds a niche and movie studios run that niche to the ground (looking at you Melissa McCarthy and Rebel Wilson). Admittedly, the only reason was because of Robert Downey Jr., but not even he could have saved the movie for me."
26.The Counselor (2013)
"The Counselor with Brad Pitt and Javier Bardem is the first — and ONLY — movie I've walked out on without learning or caring about how it ended. I love Javier Bardem in just about any movie, but that movie was sheer torture to sit through."
27.To All the Boys: Always and Forever (2021)
"To All the Boys 3. I wasn't big on the first two, TBH, but they're alright for light entertainment. The third one was just so boring, and I really didn't care about their 'conflict.' I think I turned it off around the time they visited New York, but I can't remember exactly because I'd zoned out a while before I stopped it."
28.Fun With Dick and Jane (2005)
"It was the only movie I’ve ever walked out on. I honestly don’t remember a whole lot of it. I just remember being so bored and so uninterested in finishing it."
29.And finally: Scary Movie (2000)
"My sister and her ex-husband dragged me to see it, and I left the theater about 15 minutes after it started. It was just awful. I knew I would end up losing IQ points if I watched it."
