21st Century Fox Taps Glover Park Group’s Chip Smith to Head Public Affairs

21st Century Fox has tapped Washington veteran and Glover Park Group CEO Chip Smith to serve as its head of public affairs.
Smith replaces Michael Regan, who stepped down last week after 15 years as Fox’s top lobbyist.
As exec VP of public affairs, Smith will oversee worldwide legislative, regulatory and strategic policy matters for the company. He will be based in Washington, D.C. and New York, report to Fox CEO James Murdoch and co-chairman Lachlan Murdoch.
“The next decade is one of immense opportunity for 21st Century Fox. At a time of unprecedented change in our industry, it is more critical than ever that the policy and regulatory community truly understand our business, the value of what we do, and the broader creative community of which we are a part,” said James Murdoch. “Chip’s decades of experience helping global institutions navigate complex challenges, as well as his track-record as a founder and leader of a fast-growing and innovative business make him uniquely suited to the task at hand.”
Smith co-founded the well-connected Glover Park public relations and advocacy firm in 2001. Before that he was deputy campaign manager for Al Gore’s 2000 presidential bid.
