2025 Gold Derby Film Awards nominations: ‘Wicked’ and ‘Dune: Part Two’ lead with 11
After more than 2,400 people cast their votes, the finalists for the 2025 Gold Derby Film Awards have been unveiled. Leading the way are Dune: Part Two and Wicked, with 11 bids apiece, followed closely by Conclave with 10.
You can vote for winners effective immediately through Jan. 31 by visiting our predictions center and clicking the green vote button to the right of Gold Derby Film Awards 2025. Most categories will be decided by a straight plurality vote where you will select one nominee as your favorite, and whoever gets the most votes wins. The one exception is Best Picture, where you will rank your top three favorites in order of preference. Your top choice gets three points, second choice gets two points, and third choice gets one point. Whoever scores the most points wins. Winners in all categories will be announced on Feb. 10.
More from GoldDerby
Conclave, Dune: Part Two, and Wicked face off for Best Picture, as they are expected to do at the Oscars. They’re joined in that top category by predicted Oscar contenders Anora, The Brutalist, Emilia Pérez, and The Substance. Our users also embraced two other international features, India’s All We Imagine as Light and Brazil’s I’m Still Here. Rounding out the top category is the tennis love triangle Challengers, which amassed a robust eight nominations across the board. Notable Best Picture snubs include PGA nominee A Complete Unknown, Golden Globe nominee Nickel Boys, and Gotham Award winner Sing Sing.
Other noteworthy nominees include awards season underdogs like Luca Guadagnino (Best Director for Challengers), Joan Chen (Best Supporting Actress for Didi), and Josh O’Connor (Best Supporting Actor for Challengers). Golden Globe winner Fernanda Torres scored a Best Actress bid for I’m Still Here. In one category not present at the Oscars, Best Breakthrough Performer, Anora standout Mark Eydelshteyn received a bid alongside Karla Sofía Gascón, Clarence Maclin, Mikey Madison, and Katy O’Brian. Maclin is actually a triple nominee, having also secured Best Supporting Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay bids for Sing Sing. In our ensemble cast category, Anora is up against Conclave, Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, and Wicked. That matches four out of the five SAG Award nominees, with Dune replacing Screen Actors Guild pick A Complete Unknown.
But who deserves to win? That’s up to our registered users. You can set up your own account for free here using your Google, Facebook, or X account, or with another email address. Feel free to cast your votes right now. If you want to come back and change them, you can edit your ballot as often as you like. No votes are final until voting closes on Jan. 31.
All previous Gold Derby Film Awards winners and nominees from 2002 to now can be found in our forums thread and also on each IMDb page for films and performers.
