The 100 season finale: Eliza Taylor teases a 'really beautiful reunion'

How do you solve a problem like A.L.I.E.? Well, that’s the problem: No one knows. But in Thursday’s season finale of The 100, someone is going to have to figure some way to stop the world-destroying AI because she’s on a path to… well, destroy the world once again.

A.L.I.E. has been gobbling up every body available to her on the ground to populate her City of Light. Clarke and Co. had a great plan of attack in the first half of the finale (they would remove the City of Light key from Ontari and give her the Commander chip so they could stop the AI), but with Ontari dead, the gang has run out of options. In a bit of a last ditch effort, Clarke will, herself, enter the City of Lights — a move that Eliza Taylor, who plays Clarke, says is “extremely dangerous.”

“There are people literally climbing the walls of this tower to get to us, so it’s a race against time,” she adds. “It’s their only option, so Clarke is taking the chip and hoping for the best — and who knows what that’s going to do to her.”

We have an idea of what could happen.... In one of the worst-kept secrets of the season, fans know that Clarke will be reunited with a certain Commander in this final episode. “I think everyone knows that we are going to see Lexa again,” Taylor says. “What I am excited about is for them to see how and in what way we find her again. It’s going to be a really beautiful reunion.”

And as for if it will be painful for her to be reunited with her love? “Thinking someone’s gone forever and then seeing them again is pretty non-explanatory,” she says. “It’s going to change Clarke for the best and make her stronger and even more determined to save her people… as usual.”

Clarke saving her people is nothing new for The 100, let alone 100 finales. As for how she saves her people, that’s something Taylor won’t reveal much about. Although, she promises the finale is “very, very powerful” and something she’s excited for fans to watch.

“I haven’t been this excited about an episode in a very long time,” she says. “I love how well [EPs] Jason [Rothenberg] and Dean [White] put together these two-part finales. I think they leave people wanting more — even me! … I don’t think this finale is going to disappoint in any way.”
