Ryan Lochte Debuts Light Blue Hair for the Olympics
With hours of training, strategic planning, and loading up on top-of-the-line fitness gear behind him, U.S. Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte seemed to be officially ready for the Rio Olympics. But, as it turns out, he had one last thing to do.
Ahead of the games, Lochte decided to dye his hair a platinum shade of what he’s labeled “light blue,” debuting the look in a recent Instagram post. Usually seen wearing his hair its natural dark brown shade, the change is certainly surprising but definitely fun. His hair is now so brightly bleached that it’s possible it might even blend right in with the water during his swim (if swim caps weren’t a requirement, of course).
While it might just be an opportunity to flaunt his confidence, he doesn’t seem to be taking the change seriously, especially considering he posted this funny picture of himself pretending to eat the white hair dye:

Will the rest of the U.S. Olympic swim team be following in Ryan’s footsteps with a dramatic hairstyle change? (Michael Phelps, we’re looking at you!) Either way, best of luck to Ryan in Rio this year. Hopefully his new hairdo will help him bring home the gold!
