Jamie Dornan on Filming '50 Shades' and Facing Mobs of Angry Fans
By Mary Kaye Schilling
Jamie Dornan is a busy man, from filming the highly anticipated cult-followed film, Fifty Shades of Grey, in addition to his hit TV show, The Fall. So it comes as no surprise that he’s been pretty quite about all the hype since he was named the film’s leading man.
"A lot of people are very angry that I’m playing this character," he tells DETAILS in the magazine’s February Issue, on stands next week.
"I almost don’t want to put this out there into the ether, but I fear I’ll get murdered, like John Lennon, by one of those mad fans at the premiere," he says. "And I’m a father now, and a husband. I don’t want to die yet. And when I do get murdered," he says, "people will say, ‘God, isn’t it haunting how he did that interview in Details magazine and predicted his own death on the red carpet?’"

Dornan’s clearly joking, but he is trying to prepare for the hype of the film’s release.
“I don’t think you can do anything to prepare for whatever the reaction is to the film. Set up sand bags? Stay in doors? I don’t know.”
The photos captured for DETAILS show off the 50 Shades star’s buffer physique.
“Christian Grey as a character is pretty obsessive about staying in shape and exercise. It’s a big part of who he is, so we had to work on that. But you know, I came into the game quite late with it, so I probably would have liked a little bit more time to get into peak shape, but we did what we could do with the time we had.”
